  • Life as we knew it came to a halt...

Sorry for not keeping this up to date...I am typing one handed now, as i have a sleeping baby in my arms (so precious).

McKenzie arrived at 1:05pm on Sunday, March 8th (yes, 4wks ago).  She was bigger than expected at 8lbs 14oz.  At her 2wk ckeck-up, she was in he 90th percentile for length and weight.  She is very healthy!!!

I will post the birth story at some point...it was a doozy, but more than worth it!  We love the mess out of this precious baby!!!

Hope all is well with everyone!

  • Update...but no baby yet...

Well, we had another ultrasound on Tues. and McKenzie was estimated to be 8lbs 2oz and is now in the 82nd percentile for size.  I haven't dialated any more but my cervix is ready...so, the Dr. recommended that we induce and it is scheduled for Monday morning at 8am...unless she comes over the weekend.  We will see...there are signs that labor is coming, but I haven't had one contraction, so until I actually feel a contraction or even a braxton hicks contraction, then we are just planning on Monday!

We will try to keep this and facebook up to date, along with sending an email once McKenzie Kate gets here.  We appreciate ALL PRAYERS over the next couple of days!!!

  • Early Signs

I had my weekly Dr's apt on Thurs. afternoon.  I was 2cm dilated.  After the Dr left, I went to get dressed and there was blood everywhere.  It scared me really bad, so I called for the nurse and she got the Dr. and he said everything was fine, it was just from the internal exam.  So, I have had very light bleeding since Thursday.  Today I am pretty sure I lost the mucous plug (gross, I know).  No contractions, but I couldn't sleep at all last night.  I had felt really great all last week, but since the apt on Thurs. I am nervous now.  It seems like it could be any day now....which is very exciting and scary at the same time.  So, PLEASE PRAY that I will have a peace inside that all is going to be ok. Alex and I have our bags packed and the car seat is in the car.  We are so ready for her to get here, but I panic when I think it is actually TIME to go have her....

Alright, that is our update.  We will be sure to keep you posted...maybe we will take a wk 39 pic tomorrow...we will try, unless we go to the hospital tonight.  Ekkk and a lot of excitement all at once!!

  • Wk 38

    DSCN2085 DSCN2093

Two full weeks to the due date...I wouldn't mind if McKenzie wanted to come a bit early...As you can see, my belly is huge and I am puffy all over...I am sure that my hospital pics are going to be horrible with all the fluids they give...ugh...as long as she is healthy, that is what I keep repeating over and over again.  I can be skinny another time in my life, just not now.

At my Dr's appt last week, they approximated her to be a little over 7lbs and in the 67th percentile for size.  She is right on track to be at least an 8lb baby!

Alex and I went to Atlantic City this past weekend for one last get-away before she arrives.  It was fun.  We stayed in a nice hotel and walked around the shops.  We didn't gamble, though I was hoping to win McKenzie scholarship fund, the tables were crowded and I just wasn't feeling it.  We had a nice time...

We will keep you posted, as it could be "any day now"...I just have a feeling that she is going to make us wait...

Now that the room is finished, her things are all washed and put away, we feel as ready as possible!!  I am still feeling ok, just don't have much energy, my lower back aches a LOT...but all in all, I have to be thankful because this has been a pretty great pregnancy.  :0)  We will most certainly keep the pics posted as we get closer to bringing our baby girl home!  Daddy has been wonderful and I am sure that has been the main contributor to the past 8 months going so well for me.
